Debt is an Opportunity

Debt is normally obtained through mismanagement of money or taking risks. Most people slide into debt slowly and avoid thinking about being in debt - because it’s perceived as such an ugly word.  When was the last time you told someone you were in debt?  If the answer to that question is all the time - then you’ve actually reached a point where you at least understand that something needs to be done and you now have the opportunity to turn things around.  For the others who haven’t realised it yet they are still going about things the same way and are not there yet.  Once they finally realise that they are in debt and can accept it and talk about it - it might be too late.

The opportunity to get out of debt gives us the ability to learn and grow.  The sooner we realise the sooner we can learn to change our patterns and look for positive ways forward.

Taking risks is always going to be part of life and learning from our mistakes then minimizes our risk. If we identified that we are in debt earlier we would learn faster and not get into as much debt.

Recognizing the small steps to debt is a healthy way of avoid the stress of a large debt.
